Hey folks! Thank you so much for the follows, kind emails and support. I’ve noticed that there is still engagement here from a lot of fellow writers that I admire so I’ve decided to return to this platform to supplement the content I provide on my personal website as well. What this means is back to writing reviews, sharing links/podcasts (from my website) and providing more thoughts after my time off. My plan was to return in late August, but it’s looking more like late July. Ideally, Director’s Club will return next month with an official new episode as well as a bonus commentary track too. In addition, B-Side Me will be back in mid-late August as well. The URL will not be changing since that would lead to a lot of broken links. Why do I say that? Well…
There’s the slight possibility of Director’s Club putting out one more final director-centric episode in December and only sticking to yearly traditions depending on how I feel and how much I can take on. With the librarian day job, working on a documentary and writing essays for my memoir, there’s a tricky balancing act. Not to mention trying to read more, catch up on blind spots and classic films and contribute to other podcasts soon too.
My main goal in life was to be a writer and/or a songwriter. Both are passions that I continue to pursue. Librarianship also happened to play a huge role in not only what brings me joy but provides financial stability (something else to keep on top of). Again, the bulk of my work is still being archived at JimLaczkowski.net but I’ll be back to the land of Substack to support those whose work I enjoy the most and share my own again. There’s certainly a lot to look at from the past, so feel free till later this month when some new work is shared. I’ll also provide a bit more about my latest record later this month too but it’s out and about and available to stream or purchase over on Bandcamp.
Thank you for being patient, for subscribing, for sharing and simply taking the time to give my work a thumbs up or your support in any way. It means a lot. You’ll be hearing from me again here and in the world of podcasts again soon!
